授業の目標・概要：

近年の科学技術史・科学技術論においては、さまざまな形で「イメージ」が取り扱われている。それは一方では文字通りの視覚的なイメージであり、他方では科学技術における、ないし科学技術についての、さまざまな形態でのメンタルなイメージとその表象についてのものであったりする。



この授業では科学におけるイメージと科学（ないし科学者）のイメージの両者を扱う。一方で、視覚的表象についての科学論的・科学史的研究はかなりの蓄積があり、他方で、科学のイメージの問題は科学コミュニケーションの中心的な問題であったり、科学についての文化史・文化論的研究の重要課題であるので、それぞれ大量の研究がある。



この授業ではそれらを網羅することはしない。なるべくその両方にかかわるものを中心にするが、それに限定するわけでもない。必ずしも系統的に文献を選択するわけではないが、参加者にとって何らかの得るものがあると思われるものを選択すし、方法論的な基礎文献から、最近の研究まで、幅広い話題を扱う。。

授業の形態

授業の形態は、セミナー形式とする。原則として、文献は参加者全員が読んでくるものとする。

毎回、それぞれの文献を担当する発表者を設ける。発表者は初回の授業で決める。発表者は、A4一枚以内のレジュメを用意し、参加者が各自文献を読んできたという前提のもとで、文献のポイントなどを簡単に紹介し、文献に述べられた論点を批判的に検討しるのが役目である。細かい内容の紹介は必要ない。とくに文献の逐語訳的な説明は減点の対象となる。

発表者は、授業担当者と相談のうえ、シラバスに指定されているものとは別の文献を発表することができるものとする。その場合は、ある程度内容の紹介が必要となる。

Readingは参加者の希望により、入れ替えてもよい。下のリストに他の候補を挙げておいた。ここに上がっていないものでもよい。

成績評価は次の点数を加算する。

    授業への積極的な参加：70%

    プレゼンテーション30%

希望すれば、レポートの提出により、30%まで点数を上乗せする。
